I photograph with my phone whenever I see a moment of effort, body language that speaks volumes. I photo-wiped all background to focus on the movement.

Global Warming or Moldy Tangerine
Inspired by: Harvey Sadow, Fire and Flood/Sacred Sites
welded found steel
16″ x 14″ x 10″
2022
I worked on this piece a week before the Call from Fitchburg. It is simple in visual connection but took several days of pounding, welding and re-welding to create the image.

Pedestrian Crossing
welded steel
66″ x 36″ x 12″

The pedestrian crossing image on a street light or sign applies to all, ages, races, genders, abilities. We are all one when we cross the street, as it should be everywhere else.

Rough Road
welded steel
12″ x 10″ x 9″
2023
We all have a rough road ahead, but together we plod onward. The base scrap covered with lumpy practice welds paired with the “A” shaped scrap led me to this composition.

Weary
welded steel
28″ x 33″ x 6″
2023
This piece started with the pants. The wrinkled pant leg pipe set up the scene. There were other bases in its existance but this one, red and white is ideal. My figures mimic the way I feel about “things”. They let out my steam. I am weary too but I am also hopeful.

All my works starts with the story in the scraps. The legging and Bolero scraps were the inspiration for this piece. Working with solid and see through to imitate heels to head was a blast.

No More Dinner
Inspired by: David Seltzer, Sea Salt/Lemon Sage Mixteca-Puebla Artist, Tripod Bowl
photograph
18″ x 18″
2019
Plates, forks spoons should be on the table to serve the dinner, not abandoned in the mud. This is the antithesis of Feast, implying the end of a kitchen and family that would gather there. The empty ceremonial tripod bowl, Mixteca-Pueblo was used to invoke a prayer for plenty and gratitude when it occurred. The decorations on the stems of the forks and spoons elevated their daily utility. David Seltzer’s Sea Salt – Common Sage illustrates the memory of favorite food. Dinnerware abandoned to puddles still holds memory of diners once all connected sharing a meal.
