Masquerading as Prey

Inspired by: Harold Edgerton, Milkdrop Coronet Phyllis Galembo, Atam Masquerader Shelley Reed, Predator/Prey (after Oudry)

pine, wire, wood, spray paint, acrylic and cotton batting on shaped panel

18″ x 15″ x 9″

2025

$500

Masquerading as Prey reflects themes of deception, vulnerability, and survival. The cage suggests both a trap and a refuge, while the objects within hint at the tension between concealment and exposure. This work continues my exploration of fear, and the blurred boundaries between safety and captivity.

Night Watcher

Inspired by: John Willis, Recycled Realities 1

wood, concrete, styrofoam, rebar, wire, spray paint

49″ x 25″ x 15″

2023

A significant part of my artistic practice is to source viable material that has been discarded and is awaiting disposal in the landfill, to be used in the creation of my work. Night Watcher gives new purpose to a selection of abandoned materials such as found wood, rebar, and packaging styrofoam, to then be partnered with common utilitarian material such as burlap and concrete. This sculpture observes the rate of consumption and wastefulness of everyday practices that continuously fuel the ravaging nature of industry.

As the Farms Wane

Inspired by: Adriaen van Otade, Company in a Tavern David Seltzer, Sea Salt/Lemon Sage Jules Aarons, West End Meat Market

carved TruCast mounted on cradled board

30″ x 36″

2024

As the Farms Wane alludes to the decline of agriculture and the rapid disappearance of family farms, and how that predicament impacts society. Historically, civilizations grew out of agriculture which enabled the establishment of complex societies. What will happen when the farms vanish? What will be of the farmers and their livelihoods?
