Maxine McDonald

I have been working as a fine art photographer since 1992, teaching black and white darkroom at The Worcester Art Museum for the past 20 years and at North Middlesex Regional High School from 1992 through 2004.  Although I love black and white and still do my own gelatin silver prints, I enjoy working in color, especially close-ups and abstracts of objects such as the photograph shown here, which is part of a series I have done on”the color of rust.”

My work has been exhibited in many juried shows throughout New England [including ArtsWorcester] and has won prizes in several including the current Fitchburg Art Museum Regional Exhibition.  I was also very fortunate to be included in a great many invitational, and 6 solo exhibits. My gallery representation is at The Boulder Gallery in Fitchburg, MA and Lincoln-Levy Gallery in Portsmouth, NH.

In 2007, I won international recognition for my Waterdance series with a Portfolio Merit Award and my work shown in Black and White magazine.
