Siddharth Choudhary makes digital drawings using a stylus on computer screen and inkjet printing technology. Choudhary is self-taught, his exploratory lines map his intercultural experiences resulting from a nomadic life. Over the past decade he has lived in Mumbai, Paris and Hong Kong before arriving at his final port of call in Boston in 2017. Choudhary mixes a variety of non-canonical references with humor and digital technology to investigate various dimensions of crisscrossing international borders. His drawings negotiate the boundary between traditional and digital, virtual and real, canonical and vernacular as well as drawing, painting and printmaking. Choudhary was born and raised in India. He received an MVA in Studio Arts from Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University in 2015. Choudhary has exhibited in the United States, Hong Kong, China, Switzerland and in India. Choudhary was a resident at Vermont Studio Centre, he received the Presidential Scholarship at Anderson Ranch Arts Centre, Hong Kong’s Pure Art Foundation grant for the visual arts and Art Oxygen’s grant for public arts in Mumbai, India. He was the 1st runner up at 2014 Hong Kong Human Rights Arts Prize. Choudhary lives and works in Boston, MA.
