My artwork revolves around mythology. I grew up consuming book after book, especially Greek mythology, christian mythology, and fairytales. I tend to get wrapped up in a particular theme or story and create it over and over until I am satisfied (or bored), like re-reading a book. I primarily paint, but I also really enjoy sculpture and video– or, obsessing over the subject from a different perspective. I have historically worked very large, with most of my paintings 3 feet across or larger, however, recently, I am branching out into smaller works, which create their own exciting difficulties unique from large-scale paintings. I am very interested in the process of painting and I’m always pushing my own skill as an artist, which I’m striving to capture over on my youtube channel, @PamelaBowsArt.
