Frank Armstrong

photography

Frank Armstrong has been photographing for more than 60 years. He searches for the iconic and ironic along the roadsides throughout the US. His subjects are not hidden, but rarely noticed by the passerby. Traveling mostly on the back roads and through small towns, his images represent a slower and different pace of life. His photographs ask as many questions as they answer. He has taught photography at the University of Texas, Austin, Clark University, and various location workshops in the west and southwest.

His photographs are in the permanent collections of the Houston Fine Art Museum, the University of Texas, Austin, Amon Carter Museum, Ft. Worth, Museum of Modern Art, NYC, Worcester Art Museum, and many other public and private collections.
