A recent arrival to the US, Jennifer Amenta is originally from Toronto, Canada where she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from York University in 2000. Since then she has worked as a fashion illustrator for a bridal designer, a set painter for television, and a mural artist. Her work has been shown in several galleries in Canada including Ottawa (Cube Gallery, Atrium Gallery), Toronto (AGO’s art rental & sales, Marcia Rafelman Fine Arts), and Montreal (Avenue Art gallery).
Jennifer’s acrylic paintings are a study of the image we portray in public whether intentionally or unintentionally in an urban setting. These scenes range from humorous or ironic to ones that hint at a deeper story line and serve as snapshots of the way we live today in an environment that is constantly changing.
