The 9th Annual Worcester Consortium Student Art Exhibit

The College Show is a juried exhibit of the best art coming out of COWC colleges and universities, including Anna Maria College, Assumption College, Becker College, Clark University, College of the Holy Cross, Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Worcester State University.  It is a rare opportunity to experience Worcester as a college town, and to see its wealth of new artistic talent. Painting, photography, sculpture, works on paper, and new media are all eligible for consideration by the juror.

The juror for the 2013 College Show is Carol Keller, Professor of Art at Amherst College. Professor Keller has awarded first, second, and third prizes, as well as honorable mentions. Cash awards are given with the prizes.

1st Prize: Secrets, oil on Stonehenge paper, by Jen Heim (pictured here)

2nd prize: White-Faced Monkey, oil on canvas, by Ariela Sturgis

3rd prize: The Psychology of the Body, oil on canvas, by Kate Trancynger

Honorable mentions: Structure in Shambles by Katie Candee; Dad’s Last Tomatoes by Laurie McCrohon; Tokyo, Japan by Micheal Potiker; and Self Portrait by Alexander M Vera Morales.
