In Transition: A Members' Exhibition in partnership with the Fitchburg Art Museum

Spring/Summer 2020

In this members' exhibition--the eighth "Call and Response" partnership with the Fitchburg Art Museum-- one hundred and twenty artists show a single work in response to this year's theme of transition. This exhibition begins with a loan of ten works on the year's theme from FAM's permanent collection, on view at ArtsWorcester since January to illustrate approaches to the theme, and to provide inspiration. From the resulting members' exhibition, Marjorie Rawle, Terrana Curatorial Fellow at FAM, selected ten works to go on view next year there.

We are grateful there was time enough before closing for Ms. Rawle to make her choices for exhibition at the Fitchburg Art Museum in person, and we enthusiastically congratulate these ten artists:

Susan Stuart, Stay Tuned
(oil on canvas)

Mari Seder, Dressing up for Carnaval
(digital inkjet print)

Lucy Marcigliano, Inner Rumble
(wood and metal)

Lynn Nafey, You Play the Girl
(ink, acrylic paint, transfers, graphite, dura-lar, plexiglass, paper on wood panel)

Madge Evers, Anne, Lace Maker
(mushroom spores on cyanotype)

Gedas Paskauskas, Quinquennium
(inkjet metallic print mounted on dibond with ¼ inch plexi)

Laura Cahalane, Memory #2: Please Fuck Off

Lynn Aurelie, Portrait of Arielle-Sovely
(digital inkjet print)

Garry Harley, Grace Gray No. 1
(archival pigment ink and colored metallic thread on canvas)

Richard Shilale, Nature’s Altar

These works, and the original loan, will be on view at the Fitchburg Art Museum during the 2020-2021 exhibition year. See every artwork from this members' exhibition below:
