This fun, interactive workshop removes the mystery of the artist statement. Led by Debbie Hagan, writer and editor-in-chief of Art New England, participants will

  • Learn what collectors, gallerists, and editors want.
  • Understand the difference between an artist statement and biography.
  • Submit whatever statement you’re using for personal critique.
  • Engage in thoughtful exercises that will trigger strong details and descriptive phrases for your statement.

By the end of this high-energy class, members will leave with a rough draft of an artist statement and the confidence to tackle future written work.

Participation is limited to twenty-five students, and registration is first come, first served. You must be a current member of ArtsWorcester to register. Please register by email. A wait list will be held.
