Create, Support, Evolve: Annual Fund Appeal

Dear Friend of ARTSWorcester:

What an exciting year we’ve had at ARTSWorcester.  In numbers alone, over 9,000 visitors viewed over 700 uniquely created works by more than 425 visual artist members of all ages and media.  We installed 25 innovative group and solo exhibitions throughout Worcester at:  the Aurora Gallery, the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, the UNUM Art-at-Work program, the Hanover Theatre Salon Gallery, Quinsigamond Community College, and the gARTh gallery in the newly renovated Hadley Building.  It was a successful year, but we need your financial assistance to ensure that this coming year is too.

The numbers tell only part of the story.  The depth of ARTSWorcester’s programming offers both AW members and the wider community the opportunity to come together—to look, to learn, to talk, to feel, to connect—all in the broader context of the ongoing cultural dialogue so vital to the human spirit.  Opportunities for AW performing and literary artist members have increased at the Aurora and Hanover galleries, at Saint Vincent Hospital, and at intimate Sunday afternoon Musicales.  Our fiscal partnership with the critically acclaimed Worcester Chamber Music Society grows.  And we are deepening our collaborations with local institutions including the Museum of Russian Icons, the Worcester Art Museum, the newly reorganized Worcester Center for Crafts, the Worcester Cultural Coalition, the Worcester Cultural Commission, and the Worcester Historical Museum.

          ARTSWorcester’s small staff, core of dedicated volunteers, and committed board members are working hard to keep AW financially strong in the face of continuing economic pressures.  While our memberships are increasing slightly, less people are purchasing art, and some of AW’s corporate and foundation funders have less to give this year.  ARTSWorcester has always been prudent with its resources; expenses are carefully monitored, while not sacrificing the quality of the work we do. 

For ARTSWorcester to remain a strong community arts organization and for us to be here for our artist members and supporters alike, we need financial help from individuals like you.  You can play an integral role in continuing the cultural dialogue AW offers to Central Massachusetts by making a gift to the AW Annual Fund.  Please know that all donations to the Annual Fund maintain our galleries and programs directly.  As we approach the end of the calendar year, I hope we can again count on your support.  It is greatly appreciated.
