Michelle Stevens will be graduating with a BFA in illustration and minor in sustainability from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in May 2019. She is inspired by the depths of our imaginations, what things are considered “reality”, and human connection. Her recent thesis project was inspired by the stories, symbols and ideas in Carl Jung’s writings on Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious, which has led to a focus on portraiture in graphite, using the medium to suggest things beyond what we can see. She recently has shown at Abigail Ogilvy gallery in Boston’s SoWa district, and in the past has been shown at Boston City Hall’s Scollay Square Gallery as well as working on major art projects for Boston Calling Music Festival. When not in Boston to attend MassArt, she resides in Westborough, Massachusetts.
