Suddenly, I am retired. After working 50+ years in non-art related forms of employment and remembering I went to art school, I’ve cautiously re-entered the world of painting. Hopefully, with a fresh start, I will make a small mark.
My paintings are portraits of landscapes and the sea. They are not a total departure from reality but show a breathy remembrance of past visual experiences.
For me, paint is liquid air that gets pushed around culminating in an idea somehow preconceived but still spontaneous. My looseness of brushwork hopefully shows human pleasure from painting. I utilize a limited palette and my decisive moment is when to put the brush down.
Please enjoy my return.
