painting and mono-printmaking
Laurie is a non-traditional student and painter living with her family in Worcester, MA. She received her B.A. in 1987 and Masters in Counseling Psychology in 1993, both from Assumption College in Worcester. Although she was able to incorporate her interest in art therapy through clinical work with former individual and group clients, she took her first formal art course around age 40. With much gratitude for the support of the studio art professors of her alma mater, Laurie has focused primarily on oil landscape painting and monoprints. She paints both plein air and in the studio and enjoys both abstract and more representational styles of painting. She is looking forward to taking a still life studio art class this fall and continued development in the medium.
