L.F. Blanchard is an artist, photographer and writer, with work that can be seen throughout the state, including an ongoing showing at Cormier Jewelers Gallery in Spencer, Ma. She recently had two shows at the Worcester Public Library. The first was in conjunction with the release of her first book, Abandoned Asylums of Massachusetts. Her second, Abandoned Asylums of Connecticut is set to release in December of 2016. The second exhibit, America the Beautiful was inspired by her explorations of America’s national parks and scenic byways. These majestic scenes stand as an inspiration to those seeking the peace only this natural beauty can bring.
Ms. Blanchard recently graduated from Worcester State University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Art Therapy. Her passion for helping those who have had extreme and life changing events has fed her desire to understand mental illness.
She authors an ongoing blog, dealing with several topics, including art, photography, education as well as mental health. Currently, she is working with Tammy Rebello on a collection of original art and photography exploring the effects of mental illness, with their series, Abandoned: A Journey to the Light.
